Other than the holidays in this hot summer the best part of summer is, which is my favorite is you can see a varied colors of bounty of fresh produce,
But they are not just produce they help you reduce the heat in your body…
Surprised?? But it’s very true.
So today I am going share some tips for Women to Stay fresh and about what you can include and what you can cut down in your diets for summer…
Berries like blueberries, raspberries, cherries etc. are easily available in the market. These are a high source of antioxidants and which is no secrete how much they are important it is to us and every women. They are rich in fiber. And let’s not forget they are colorful appetizing as well as luscious and delicious. I personally enjoy berry smoothies as they are rich thick and delicious.
The biggest problem we women face in summer is dehydration, Melons like Watermelons are the best source of hydration, and they are juicy tender sweet just as anyone needs at the time. And I know one thing that I will be never dehydrated as watermelon is my favorite fruit!!!!
Soaked Sabja seeds or Soaked Jeera seeds
This is one of the remedy which was passed to me by my Grandmother. I always used to suffer a burning sensation in my feet and she used to soak either of the seeds (jeera/sabja) overnight and give me to drink in the morning. You would doubt but it worked wonders, it is one of the best body coolants. You can add it to your lemonade, sweetened milk flavored milk and it becomes a fun drink.
Green Veggies and Salads
It is very important to include green veggies and salads in your summer diets. As they are a huge source of antioxidants vitamins and give us all the energy you need. , it is a no secrete how exhausting for a women to keep up with the standards. Green veggies have the anti-aging properties in them. And as far as salad goes tomatoes are huge source of water and antioxidants, whereas, cucumber is a natural coolant which help the body cool down.
Onions always have had a pungent smell and we girls run away from it, I know I did! Until I found out the medicinal qualities of an onion. Consumption of onions in a small amount everyday helps to ease summer complaints. Especially the red ones.
Say NO to Tea/Coffee
Please avoid tea and coffee, instead you could opt for iced tea or cold coffee. Hot Tea and coffee in summer may just increase your body heat and invite acidity. So it would be better to cut down on hot beverages. My whole family was addicted to tea but I made them switched over to ice tea and now they literally thank me for that!!!! They are welcomed!!!!
Aam Panha (Raw mango puree)
Aam panha is a raw mango puree mixed with jaggery and chilled water. It’s the best refreshing cool drink during summer to make it more interesting you could add some basil and mint leaves to it.!!! I always welcome my guest with a fine chilled Aam panha during summers. You would not want to miss this refreshing drink this summer!!!
One of the things I always include and which also enhances the tastes is yogurt. It is said that a bowl of yogurt contains all the necessary calories a human body needs for one day. It would be probably the best if the yogurt is made up of cow’s milk. As stated in AYURVEDA cow’s milk products contain the properties of SUVARNA BHASMA which purifies your body from inside and you get a natural glow on your skin. You can also include curd and buttermilk in your diets.
Last but not the least, keeping yourself hydrated in summer is very important… there is nothing in the world that works as a cleansing agent as water. Drink plenty of water this summer, and stay away from unnecessary problems and summer complaints.
This is what I include in my diet in summer it keeps me fresh and always on my toes. Try out and include the things I suggested and you will definitely feel fresh this summer…… If you have any suggestion feel free to comment…
