There is a lot of wedding fuss around this summer and I have been asked a lot lately what to wear and how can you give different variations and get ready for five different functions. And most importantly what is in fashion. What is the current trend? I know it’s a lot to think about. Looking pretty is not an easy task. So here I am to help you ease that task. I will be telling you what is in. and what are the do’s and don’ts in this summer weddings.
Let us first start with ….best looks for summer weddings
1 ) COCKTAIL NIGHT
This is best part and a kick-start to most of the weddings. As the name suggests you can go for something fun elegant western. This suits for a lot of partying and dancing. You could go for a fun streamed structured gown. Accessories it with a nice pair of earrings to complete the look.
2) MEHENDI FUNCTION.
You can experiment a bit with your attire in a mehendi function. You could go for light pastel colors. And then with a light embroidery with a shiffon lehenga or an anarkali. This will give the flows it wishes. Wear something sleeveless or with shorter sleeves so you won’t be worried about the mehendi getting all over. And when it comes to heels I would recommend wedges. Be comfortable when you have to party.
3) SANGEET OR GARBA PARTY.
The sangeet function was basically only done in Punjabi weddings but now a days people like to include the function in their weddings too. The sangeet is the traditional song and dance done at weddings. It is traditional for friends to participate in some dance or act. Whereas Gujarati weddings have traditional folk dancing called garba and raas in which everyone can dance in a circle. For this function I would recommend for the ladies to wear a light lengha choli, sari, or salwar kameez. If you don’t have anything Indian, wear clothing that you can easily dance in and wear the boots your are comfortable to dance in.
4) HALDI CEREMONY.
For the haldi ceremony, there is the tradition to paint the bride and groom with the turmeric paste. As the turmeric can stain bright yellow I would recommend to women out there to wear a soft flowy dresses and salwar kameez. Preferably of oranges, pinks, yellow, and cream colors.
5) THE MAIN DAY.
Go for something a bit more traditional and elaborate it with the accessories. Do not go overboard with the dress. I would recommend doing it simple and fewer flusters you can experiment with variety of colors on this day. Just make sure the color of the attire matches your skin tone. When it concerns the makeup you could go with brown smoky eye make up with the touch of golden glitter. A pair of earrings would just complete the look…
So you pretty ladies out there go try out the new looks and attire and let me know how pretty and glamorous you feel about yourself.
